RICS Expert Witness Conference Manchester Oct 20th 2011

RICS North is delighted to launch the first Expert Witness Conference taking place in the Northern Region. Expert witnesses play a vital role in dispute resolution and the Conference is designed specifically for experts involved in dispute resolution in civil and commercial cases.

This conference will equip delegates with the up to date knowledge, practical skills and the expertise to perform effectively and professionally as an expert witness. The practical sessions are led by a team of experts in their field all of whom work as experts or with experts on a day to day basis.

The conference will provide essential information and thought provoking guidance on the topics of immunity, including balancing the duty the expert has to the court with their duty to the client, the value of experts in mediation, and discussion and tips on the process of cross-examination and hot tubbing.

There will be a legal update to highlight issues and case law most relevant to experts and advice on the business of being an expert witness in which the process of gaining work and providing a best practice and best value service will be explored in the context of the overall duty to the court to provide independent evidence in a cost effective manner.

The prestigious panel of speakers will lead an analysis of the evidence, law and practice which has an impact on the work of the expert witness. There will be plenty of opportunity to put your questions to the panel and to participate in the role play session!
