Kroll help John Magnier in dispute with Laing O’Rourke

John Magnier, the Irish racing tycoon, has hired Kroll, the corporate investigators and Expert Witnesses members, in his personal legal battle with construction company Laing O’Rourke.

Kroll’s involvement comes before a scheduled hearing at the High Court, at which Laing O’Rourke is seeking to have Explore Investments, one of its special purpose vehicles, declared insolvent.

Mr Magnier argues that Laing O’Rourke is responsible for Explore’s debts, and has asked the financial detective agency to look into the finances of Laing O’Rourke.

Mr Magnier, has previously used Krolls’ services during the row that he and JP McManus, had  with Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson over the stud rights to racehorse Rock of Gibraltar.

The world’s biggest corporate forensic investigators helped to compile a list of questions for the football club about its corporate governance and transfer dealings, pressuring the Manchester United manager.
